My laptop batty indicates 0% so i always plug it to power supply and use it. Something strange happened when power cord was removed my laptop was still working for more than 40 min. But it will not turn on with out the power cord connected. Why is ti so?

When repairing a Li-ion pack, make certain that each cell is properly reconnected to a protection circuit(See BU-304: Why are Protection Circuits Needed? and BU-304a: Safety Concerns with Li-ion) With the exception of some single-cell and power-tool packs, all Li-ion batteries must have a protection circuit; lead and nickel-based batteries are exempt.
Give the battery another overnight charge as described in Step 6. The Epsom salts should remove deposits on the battery plates which previously prevented the battery from taking a full charge. Check the battery in the morning. If the battery still won't take a full charge, it likely cannot be saved. If the battery has taken a charge, replace the cell caps and use your cart normally. Put a trickle charger on the batteries every night to keep the batteries in peak condition. Use only distilled water inside your battery. Never use tap water as the chemicals in tap water will destroy your battery. Do not get battery acid or the white/yellow corrosion on the batteries on your skin or clothing as this acid can burn and destroy material in a very short time. Always wear gloves and eye protection when working on lead acid batteries.Always be sure to properly maintain your golf cart.
Do not recharge household batteries except those that specifically say “rechargeable.” And recharge them only in battery recharging units. See Battery Recharger.
Either way you put your battery in the charger and all you get is a flashing red light, which according to the label on the charger means your battery is defective. It isn't just dead.
