I purchased a replacement battery for Acer S3 391. Battery model isAP11D3F, AP11D4F. Battery was charged very slowly, but was able to be charged to 100% after 24 hours. But the battery is not able to start the laptop without external power supply plugged in. When unplugged the external power supply, the machine turned off instantly. Voltmeter cannot detect any voltatge output from the battery connectors. "Powercfg -energy" report shows no problem about the battery. Please help.
This can be due to 2 reasons. One, the battery of your iPhone is not operating at its peak performance capability. You can check the health in Settings. Second, your operating system and apps may not be updated that causes battery drain while usage.
What is a Li Ion battery? Li ion batteries are mostly used in cell phones, laptops, surgical devices etc. It uses Graphite rods as Cathode and Lithium Oxide as anode. What causes it to age? The battery works on the principle of movement of two electrodes. However, with time, elevated temperature and prolonged cycling, the performance reduces over time.
Lead acid batteries are one of the oldest rechargeable batteries since 1800s. How do they work? The principle is based on production of electricity by a chemical reaction. The Sulfuric acid in the electrolyte reacts with the Lead oxide (PbO) and Lead (Pb) to form lead sulfate (PbSO4) which is the main culprit behind wearing out of batteries over years. Lead sulfate crystallizes and the battery stops recharging. When the layers of sulfate are deposited, the battery might permanently stop. How do we bring dead batteries back? By desulfation! The reversal of sulfation allows us to extend battery life.

I have replaced the PS for my daughter's Gateway MX-6436 LT, and the MB, as it sometimes charges the battery, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it runs with the battery out and the PS in, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it indicates charging, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it turns off after 30 min as the power meter indicates a low charge, but won't charge with either PS. I feel I am chasing a ghost. Does anyone have any ideas? Remove the caps that cover the cells of the batteries. You may need to push the end of a slot screwdriver under the cell cap pry upward to remove the caps. Inspect each battery cell and use a turkey baster to add distilled water to any cell in which the plates are exposed to the air. Add enough water to cover all plates.
