Nick I think you're misunderstanding. It isn't that the battery isn't good, it's the the charger isn't recognizing it. I did these batteries years ago and they're still working just fine. Do they stay charged as long as a new battery? No. They never do. But they still work and complete jobs. ~ karen! Description: A resistor offers resistance and thus limits/regulates flow of electric current in a circuit. For an active device (like transistor), it is used to provide a specific voltage. A resistor is used to recondition a cell phone battery. When do we require resistors? As we restore a cell phone battery, it is connected to charger directly (contrast this with charging inside battery, the current goes through the controller). The voltage needs to be limited, otherwise the nattery might burn up due to too much current.

I had a relatively new battery in a car that died. The battery (and car) sat for a year, got sulfated and wouldn’t charge. I used a bottle of INOX Battery Conditioner which you can get at many auto shops for about $10. Charged up the battery and it’s still good. As I understand it, the INOX breaks down the sulfides and they go back into solution.
