Okay by trying this i was able to restore the charging capability for 30 seconds. I figure that this issue should be able to be fixed with a simple solution outside of buying a new battery since it shows signs of recharging. Any other suggestions?

I have replaced the PS for my daughter's Gateway MX-6436 LT, and the MB, as it sometimes charges the battery, sometimes it doesn't.
