The battery should read at least 12 volts. If your reading shows 10 to 12 volts instead, you may be able to restore the normal function through reconditioning. However, there are a few tricks you can do to extend the life of your e-bike battery, including transporting the battery carefully at all times and storing the e-bike securely. An e-bike battery feels much more comfortable in a dry environment and should also be protected from direct sunlight. In general, a room temperature of 15 to 20 degrees Celsius is ideal for storage. The same applies to charging the battery. The battery's state of charge also has a positive effect on its life. We recommend maintaining a state of charge of 10 to 80% when the e-bike is not in use – for example, if you’re not using it for several months over the winter. Hi I replaced my laptops battery cells. Now when I connect the battery to laptop it says fully charged but when I unplug the AC adaptor the laptop shuts down imidiately like I have no battery on it. I checked all connections and all it's fine. The plus and minus terminals of the battery have zero volts but the cells have 11.5 volts. I use the resistor to activate the solid-state switch but with no luck. I have to mention that I replaced the cells without keeping "alive" the circuit board. Why is this happening? Is there any way to bypass the board? thanks

Canister cells do not swell, which might make you think they are more dangerous. The thing is, though, that canister cells are designed in a way which makes them not need to swell. This makes it so that canister cells not only don’t have the swelling problem but they are protected by a hard steel outer casing, making them safer overall.

Put the plastic cover back on the battery pack (just the part that goes into the charger) and set your battery on the charger to see if it will take a charge. If you still only get a red flashing light and the battery won't charge, boost the battery some more. I find the battery charger will recognize that the battery is good again when you boost it to between 10 and 14 volts.
