i found as a temporary battery i can use a 12 volt and a 6 volt battery wired in series to make 18 volts and then solder it onto my laptops old broken charger cable works great i just had the idea the other day and to charge them i just use a lead acid battery charger i can charge them while it is plugged into the laptop the laptop doesnt care still keeps running and will work for most laptops as 18 volts is pretty standard.

I use an ASUS F200 LA computer. The battery was not charging. When plugged in, it will display charging, but it won't leave 0%, and it switches off immediately when it is not on an external source of power, so an engineer helped me in boosting it by charging it through its positive and negative terminals after loosing the battery, then it charged to 58%, but it will still not increase when charged with the laptops charger, and when the power adapter is unplugged, it switches off immediately. You say that you may apply dielectric grease under the clamp. I have seen advice that said to clean the post and clamp, and then apply a very light cost of dielectric grease on the post and install the clamp. Then cover the outside of the clamp and bolt with dielectric grease. Some people say that you should never put grease between the post and the clamp since it is an insulator and will impede the flow of current. Others say that the grease on the post will squeeze out of the high spots where contact is actually made, and fill the low spots to achieve a long life, corrosion free, high capacity connection.

Hi I replaced my laptops battery cells. Now when I connect the battery to laptop it says fully charged but when I unplug the AC adaptor the laptop shuts down imidiately like I have no battery on it. I checked all connections and all it's fine. The plus and minus terminals of the battery have zero volts but the cells have 11.5 volts. I use the resistor to activate the solid-state switch but with no luck. I have to mention that I replaced the cells without keeping "alive" the circuit board. Why is this happening? Is there any way to bypass the board? thanks
