Spot-welding a cell is the only reliable way to get dependable connection and four spot-welds per cell is the norm. Limit the heat transfer to the cells during welding to prevent damage. Insulate each cell electrically as the cell housing is “hot” and carries a voltage. If the new cell is at different charge level than the existing ones, apply a slow charge to bring them all to the same level. Observe the temperature during charge. Nickel-based cells will warm up towards the end of charge but must cool down on ready; Li-ion should stay cool during charge. The rise in temperature should be equal for all cells; unevenness hints to an anomaly.
The repair mode lasted about four (4) hours, just as the User Guide suggested. Toward the end I could hear the quiet bubbling sounds of electrolysis emanating from the battery; no steaming, venting of gases, or warmth to the battery casing. The charger returned to Standby mode after completion.

I see 13% available (plugged in, charging), but battery do not charge. When disconnected, the 3-d terminal shows 3,2V, the 8 others 0V. When charger is connected : terminals 1 and 2 have 0,06V, 3 have 3,2V, 4 0V, 5 and 6 have 3,25V, terminals 7,8 and 9 have 0V. When system started, nothing change. My question, which terminal is the switch one ? If I connect to ground through 100 ohms any terminal, do I risk to damage the computer ? What should I do ?
