You didn’t leave a car door open or a light on. (We believe you.) But your vehicle just won’t start. You turn on the ignition, and all you get is the telltale clicking noise. Possibly followed by competing pronouncements of “Your battery’s dead” and “It’s your alternator” from anyone within earshot.
I have now used fix2U twice in a matter of weeks for two different phone screen repairs. Can’t recommend them highly enough. Seamless from beginning to end

I had a relatively new battery in a car that died. The battery (and car) sat for a year, got sulfated and wouldn’t charge. I used a bottle of INOX Battery Conditioner which you can get at many auto shops for about $10. Charged up the battery and it’s still good. As I understand it, the INOX breaks down the sulfides and they go back into solution.
You can try the above fixes whenever you experience car battery failure, whether you are still in the garage or while travelling. These fixes should be done with utmost care and you should attempt any of them at your own risk.
After a couple minutes, connect the charger to the low battery and set it to the *repair* mode. Let it charge for a few minutes, and then remove the booster cables. If the charger keeps going, let it run. If the charger turns off, connect the booster cables again. Usually within 5 minutes you should be able to disconnect the booster cables.
The ‘hand cranking method’ requires you to jack up the rear wheel drive and use axle stands to strengthen its support. The front wheels must be chocked securely by placing the chock in the center and square to tyre, and then put the vehicle in fifth gear while the ignition is turned on. Wrap a rope around the drive tyre to spin the wheel in the normal direction of its rotation. Then really pull hard to turn the engine over and start the motor.

You say that you may apply dielectric grease under the clamp. I have seen advice that said to clean the post and clamp, and then apply a very light cost of dielectric grease on the post and install the clamp. Then cover the outside of the clamp and bolt with dielectric grease. Some people say that you should never put grease between the post and the clamp since it is an insulator and will impede the flow of current. Others say that the grease on the post will squeeze out of the high spots where contact is actually made, and fill the low spots to achieve a long life, corrosion free, high capacity connection.
