Hi I have Samsung Series 9 ultrabook NP900 X3B A01UK. This ran out of charge and the light on the charger was not on. I replaced the charger with an originL Samsung unit the laptop powered up however the charger appeared to fail immediately and the laptop shut down. On unplugging the charger it was quite warm and again the power light is not on even though the fuse has not blown. It appears something in the laptop is causing the charger to fail. Do you have any advice, could this simply be caused by a failed battery or something more seriously wrong with the laptop? Kind Regards Len

Things like overloading and overcharging a battery can lead to heat build-up that cannot be wicked away by the air. Once this reaches past a tipping point, the other cells will get hot enough to start the same process and things get out of hand very quickly.
After a couple minutes, connect the charger to the low battery and set it to the *repair* mode. Let it charge for a few minutes, and then remove the booster cables. If the charger keeps going, let it run. If the charger turns off, connect the booster cables again. Usually within 5 minutes you should be able to disconnect the booster cables.
If your battery keeps running down, starting slowly or the temperature is impacting how well your car starts, you may have a problem.
When cells are used beyond their sustained and/or burst current ratings, a small amount of irreversible damage happens every time. Over time, what seems to be working just fine can really be damaging the battery severely. So, considering the fact that it's hard to tell if you go over your peak current rating too long, the best thing you can do is plan your project so that you never go over the sustained current rating for the cells.
I had a relatively new battery in a car that died. The battery (and car) sat for a year, got sulfated and wouldn’t charge. I used a bottle of INOX Battery Conditioner which you can get at many auto shops for about $10. Charged up the battery and it’s still good. As I understand it, the INOX breaks down the sulfides and they go back into solution.
Many times, there are apps that are not updated even if “auto update” feature is turned on. So, keep on checking for any pending updates of your apps that you mostly use and update them manually. In cases you are not using some of the apps frequently or for that matter haven’t even opened it since last 3 months, we suggest you either delete the app OR put them in “offline” mode.
Though Battery is fully charged... System shut downs after 15-20 minutes... But If plugged in works properly.. What would be the problem?
Hi Dave. It is, to the best of my knowledge. It's an antique, found in an old hardware store. Good luck with the pallets - there's nothing I hate more than breaking apart those stupid pallets, lol. ~ karen!
As lithium-ion cells age, the battery slowly loses its ability to maintain as high of a voltage for as long as it used to.
If battery doesn't hold the charge then it is considered dead. Dead batteries seem to be charging to even 100% but they don't have power to keep laptop powered on. What does show DESIGN CAPACITY, FULL CHARGE CAPACITY in batteryhealth.html from Desktop, if you run this command in Win10? powercfg.exe -batteryreport /output %userprofile%/Desktop/batteryhealth.html >>abhi wrote: Please help I have Lenovo z510 battery as written in article there is switch which doesn't let power to terminals. You could boost each cell directly with 5V a little bit(30sec) so laptop can charge it again,

Touching the red probe to the positive (red) terminal and the black probe to the negative (black) terminal, read the voltage shown on the multimeter. In my case the battery was carrying a charge of 0.06 volts. Which is *almost* nothing, but not completely nothing.
