Thank YOU for your great post on how to recondition old batteries, I think it is the most efficient way to recover old batteries instead of just buying new ones once one gets damaged. I personally am using the recondition methods instead of buying new ones, and find this video on the internet which I hope will helps somebody.
Always use a charger that conforms to the specifications of your battery pack. This means if you have a 36-volt lithium-ion battery that needs a 42V charge voltage, don’t attempt to charge that battery with a higher voltage battery hoping that the BMS cuts off the charge.
