The ‘hand cranking method’ requires you to jack up the rear wheel drive and use axle stands to strengthen its support. The front wheels must be chocked securely by placing the chock in the center and square to tyre, and then put the vehicle in fifth gear while the ignition is turned on. Wrap a rope around the drive tyre to spin the wheel in the normal direction of its rotation. Then really pull hard to turn the engine over and start the motor.
Hi. I've a SONY VGP-BPS13/B already without batteries. Does any one know how to jumpstart this battery? Voltage OK in cell terminals but 0 volt in battery pins. Does any one have the pin-out diagram of such battery (7 pins)? I've tried the procedure decribed with no success. Thanx!
The repair mode lasted about four (4) hours, just as the User Guide suggested. Toward the end I could hear the quiet bubbling sounds of electrolysis emanating from the battery; no steaming, venting of gases, or warmth to the battery casing. The charger returned to Standby mode after completion.
I didn't shoot a video, but with power meter you can watch the current pulse. The battery will take 0.5A for a second or two, then 0.7A for another second or two, and then back to 0.5A. And as the charging process progresses the amperage levels increase gradually, but always pulsing.

So, let’s take a look at the battery from an expert’s perspective easily learnt at home. First of all, inspect every component of the battery as a part of routine. Start with rods. Rods play an important role in functioning of golf cart batteries and play a major role in electron processes. The sulfur deposits on rods are harmful for its functioning and delay its charging rate. Sulfur deposits are responsible for under capacity working in most of the golf cart batteries.
If the battery is fully discharged ( like if something stayed on overnight) your battery charger may not work. If so, and you can’t connect directly to another car’s battery, you can remove the dead battery, take it to the other car, and jumper it there. After about 5 minutes, remove the jumper cables and the charger should work.

Think about it. How many times have you gotten in an ultra-hot car and had to open the door, window, etc just so you can breathe for those few hot seconds. Leaving a lithium-ion battery in that condition is very bad for the battery and can cause a totally unexpected fire in the right (wrong) conditions.

This is another OEM tester for batteries. This charger is a $3000+ device that not only tests batteries, it also has the ability to recondition and charges the battery automatically. When charging batteries, they should be charged on a waveform, never a constant charge. Of course this is very expensive technology and therefore most chargers you will see available for sale only charge at a constant rate.
