Hi I have Samsung Series 9 ultrabook NP900 X3B A01UK. This ran out of charge and the light on the charger was not on. I replaced the charger with an originL Samsung unit the laptop powered up however the charger appeared to fail immediately and the laptop shut down. On unplugging the charger it was quite warm and again the power light is not on even though the fuse has not blown. It appears something in the laptop is causing the charger to fail. The battery appears to be losing 1-2% of its initial charge every day. If discharge continues at that rate, the vehicle would need to be driven (or battery otherwise recharged once per week) to stay in usable condition. I wouldn't use it as a primary battery in a vehicle, but left tended it could be put into "service" as a backup battery should my friend run into trouble with his new battery.
You have to pull it apart. you need to pulse it at a point before the circuit board. the charger clips are after. I just did 3 batteries each for about 1 minute they all revived. I did see a version where someone drilled thru the case at a point where the contacts are rather than dissemble. but I think that would expose the system to moisture.
